Notes: Château d'Escole is located in the municipality of Verzé in Saône-et-Loire, in the valley. In the seventeenth century, the castle consists of a low house, dovecote and outbuildings jail. It is built on a small mound made with hands. The circular loft occupies one corner. The house, a rectangular plan, includes, on the ground floor, a square floor and an attic stage, lit by bull's oeils, under a high hipped roof. The main door, which gives access to the lobby, is topped by a curved pediment. The castle is privately owned and not open to visitors.
