Location: Chastellux-sur-Cure, in the Saône-et-Loire departement of France (Bourgogne Region).
Built: 11th century.
Condition: In good condition.
Ownership / Access: Currently owned by Count Philippe de Chastellux and its open to visitors.
Notes: Château de Chastellux is located Chastellux-sur-Cure in the Yonne in Burgundy. This castle is still inhabited by the family who built it, is extremely rare in France. The construction of the oldest still existing parts - Tour Saint-Jean - dates back to the year 1080 approximately. The main building is the subject of first registration under the Historic Monuments November 10, 1925. A tower is then classified November 10, 1976 before the joint and surrounding facilities are registered 17 February 1989.
