Notes: Château de Châteauneuf, in Côte-d'Or, Burgundy military architecture of the fifteenth century, guard the southern end of Auxois. This large stone vessel 75 m long and 35 m wide, built on a rocky outcrop located 475 meters above sea level, overlooking the valley of the Burgundy Canal and is located 43 km from Dijon, near Pouilly en-Auxois and the A6 motorway. Since 1 January 2008, the fortress is owned by the Regional Council of Burgundy on the initiative of its President Francois Patriat. This change in ownership is a consequence of the decentralization law of August 2004, which provided for the transfer to local governments of dozens of monuments and classified sites previously belonging to the State. The region now has the will to continue its restoration and make it the centerpiece of a heritage and cultural project focused on the ducal Burgundy.
