Notes: The Château de Ligny is a castle located in Ligny-en-Cambrésis, in the department of North, in the center of the village.The construction of the medieval castle began in the ninth century. The round tower of the castle is the last vestige. Legend has it that Joan of Arc, in captivity, passed through Ligny. In the sixteenth century, the castle was taken by the French of the garrison of Cambrai, for the Villers-au-Tertre, to which the castle belonged, held the party of Spain. In 1996, the castle was transformed into a luxurious hotel.
