Notes: The castle of Bazens is a castle, located next to the church of Bazens in Lot-et-Garonne.Lords of Bazens are quoted without the second half of the thirteenth century, but from this time the bishops of Bazens seem to have rights over the seigniory. The castle of Bazens is rebuilt by the Della Rovere, bishops of Agen, to make it their summer residence: Leonardo Grosso della Rovere, bishop of Agen between 1487 and 1519, and Marc-Antoine de La Rovère, bishop between 1519 And 1538. The castle was built by an architect of Limoges named Villars. The staircase tower was built in 1494.
