Notes: Château de Montfort is a castle of the thirteenth century, located in the town of Montigny-Montfort in the department of Côte-d'Or. This fortress is perched on a rocky plateau 317 meters above sea level overlooking three valleys of Dandarge, Bramble and Louère. The castle's unique architecture has had many illustrious owners and housed the Shroud for many years. Today the site is fully managed by the association MONS FORTI (Law 1901). Since 1996, strong of its 220 members the latter strives to restore, beautify and animate the site. The site is open for free guided tours by reservation.
