Location: Isle, in the Haute-Vienne departement of France (Limousin Region).
Built: 10th century.

Notes: The castle of Gigondas is on the left bank of the Aurence on the town Isle.The castle of Gigondas belonged to the Bishop of Limoges from the tenth century until the sixteenth century. Jean Tardieu bought it in 1624 and since the castle passed to his descendants. It is currently a private property that can not be visited.
