Notes: Citadelle de Saint-Tropez is a citadel "pre-Vauban" of the early seventeenth century containing the Naval Museum of Saint-Tropez. The dungeon of the citadel is classified as historical monuments since December 12, 1921 and the enclosure is classified since 4 July 1995; The glaze of the counterscarp of the citadel was, meanwhile, registered 23 August 1990. In 1958 the Donjon is transformed into "marine museum" or is exposed in a dozen theaters tropézien naval heritage from antiquity to contemporary times: engravings, paintings, documents, amphorae, models ... It naval museum closed in 2002, while starting major restoration work on the tower. The project of a new municipal museum to replace the former was released in 2008. After 10 years of work, historical research and acquisition of new collections, the Naval Museum of Saint-Tropez opened on 24 July 2013.
